And The Next Movie To Be Delayed Is… Jumanji!

robinwilliamsIt appears as though someone in Hollywood is spinning a comically large carnival wheel, and whichever upcoming movie production it lands on gets delayed for six months. Following up on news that The Dark Tower will be delayed, which followed news that The Flash may be delayed, Jumanji star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has announced that the film's release will be pushed back from Summer 2017 to Christmas 2017. Revealing the news via Instagram post, Johnson did his best to put a positive spin on things:

Excited to share this great news: CHRISTMAS of 2017 comes early for our #JUMANJI SEQUEL.
We were always slated to be released summer of 2017, but after months of shooting and editing our movie together, we realized we have a big family franchise on our hands, that's full of Christmas wish fulfillment, fun and heart.

Like so many of us, it's my FAVORITE time of the year and I LUV delivering holiday entertainment. From MOANA this Thanksgiving, to ROCK THE TROOPS this Christmas, to JUMANJI next Christmas! Calling Rudolph now to get our sleigh and fanny packs.

In addition to The Rock, Jumanji also stars Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas.
