"Bill & Ted 3": Neon Sign Teases August Release Date

Bill & Ted Face the Music started teasing fans on social media for its distant summer release with a neon sign gif. The complete sign on the tweet reads "69 Dudes Months." The "69" and "Months" are in pink, while the "Dudes" is in blue. The first message reads "69 Dudes", which is one of their signature catchphrases. The "6" and the "Dudes" then dim and the "Months" lights up showing "9 Months" signifying their August 2020 release date. It's a nice subtle tease of what's to come especially for fans used to the adolescent hijinks of the Wyld Stallyns.

What Will Change 28 Years Later?

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reunite to reprise their roles as Bill S. Preston, Esq and Ted "Theodore" Logan, respectively for their third Bill & Ted film, their first in 28 years. The release commemorates the 30th anniversary of the first film, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989). While fans of the franchise are used to their exuberant youth, both are middle-aged parents looking to leave a meaningful legacy of the musical careers that never quite took off. Would it be unusual if the two still spoke their stoner lingo in their 40-50s? It sure as hell won't resemble anything that Jay of Jay and Silent Bob says.

A visitor from the future tells best friends Bill and Ted that one of their songs can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.

A Most Excellent Cast and Crew

Dean Parisot directs with creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon returning to write the screenplay for Orion. Also returning to produce is Scott Kroop and joining him are Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce. Steven Soderbergh, R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer, and John Santilli executive produce.

Co-starring with Reeves and Winter are Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, William Sadler, Beck Bennett, Jayma Mays, Erinn Hayes, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Kristen Schaal, Scott Mescudi, Anthony Carrigan, Amy Stoch, and Hal Landon Jr.

Bill & Ted Face the Music comes to theaters on August 21, 2020.
