[Oscars] Check Out the Beautiful Stage for the Academy Awards Ahead of Sunday

Even if you're not a fan of the Academy Awards Oscars ceremony, you have to admit: their stages are always gorgeously decorated. Although this year, I will say it would take something truly spectacular to overshadow the hall of faces style of the BAFTAs stage.

[Oscars] Check Out the Beautiful Stage for the Academy Awards Ahead of Sunday

Ahead of the 90th annual awards on Sunday, Variety tweeted the first look at the crystal-covered stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, which has been the home of the ceremony since the name change from Kodak Theater in 2012.

Check out the sparkles:

Jimmy Kimmel is again hosting the Oscars, and no doubt some viewers will be tuning in to see if anything remotely close to last year's La La Land/Moonlight envelope fiasco happens again. You'll recall the embarrassing moment when presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were handed the wrong category's envelope before announcing the winner for Best Picture during the 2017 show.

The Hollywood Reporter oral history piece about the mixup is a pretty great read; it goes through the timeline of the evening and tries to make sense of how the issue could have happened. Spoiler: it's Twitter-related. You can read the piece here.

You can read our Oscars predictions here, and join us on Sunday, March 4th for live coverage and reactions during the ceremony which airs on ABC at 5 p.m. (PST).
