Universal originally passed the Rawson Marshal Thurber (Dodgeball) film before landing at Netflix. Johnson co-stars with Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy), and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley).

In addition to directing, Thurber also co-produces alongside Beau Flynn (FlynnPictureCo) and the team of Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions. Scott Sheldon serves as executive producer.

Red Notice is one of several projects, tours, and events cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Paramount postponed Christopher McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible 7 filming in Venice, Italy. CBS also postponed shooting season 33 of the reality television series, The Amazing Race. Production already shot in the United Kingdom.

"Red Notice" Stars Other Projects

Johnson had a successful 2019 with numerous box office gems in Fighting with My Family, Jumanji: The Next Level, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. He also wrapped the final season of his HBO series Ballers. The former wrestler will be in the upcoming Disney summer film Jungle Cruise co-starring Emily Blunt. He's set to shoot the Shazam! spinoff Black Adam and the biopic The King for Warner Bros. His latest TV project Young Rock is under development for NBC.

Reynolds, Johnson's costar in Hobbs & Shaw, will be in the upcoming action-comedies Free Guy for 20th Century Studios and The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard for Lionsgate. He reprises his role as Michael Bryce for the sequel to the 2017 hit. Speaking of sequels, he'll also reprise his role as Guy in the animated The Croods 2 for Dreamworks. Gadot returns as the title character in the upcoming summer blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984 for Warner Bros. She'll also be in the murder-mystery Death on the Nile for 20th Century Studios.
