One of the surprise hits of Sundance this year was Patti Cake$ and it got picked up by Fox Searchlight for an impressive $9.5 million dollars after "one of those all-night Park City bidding wars" according to Deadline.

Summary: PATTI CAKE$ is centered on aspiring rapper Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P, a.k.a. Patti Cake$ who is fighting an unlikely quest for glory in her downtrodden hometown in New Jersey.

Patti Cake$ will be released on August 18, 2017.
