The Six Important Moments From This Week's Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD – One Of Us

There are some level 7 classified spoilers ahead… be warned.

RIC SARABIA, KYLE MACLACHLAN, GEO CORVERA

So in the latest episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, entitled One of Us, we catch up with Calvin Zabo, see how Skye's doing with her new abilities, find out what Mack did with Hunter and meet Agent May's ex-husband… the usual stuff.

1) Calvin Zabo is angry at Phil Coulson. First off for killing Whitehall before Zabo could and secondly for Skye choosing Coulson over him. She he pulls in a few folks from the gifted list that includes a hacker, a strong man, a woman with knifes for fingernails and Angar the Screamer. This is a pretty brutal crew and he convinces them to work together by saying that they are going to let the world know about SHIELD… but the truth is, he just wants Coulson dead and his daughter back.

2) Skye is told she is being put on the gifted list and part of that is having a psych evaluation. To do this the bring in a psychiatrist that used to work for SHIELD… and used to be married to Agent May. Dr. Andrew Garner. He's hesitant to come but May assures him it's a different SHIELD. He finds a way to get through to Skye by giving her information on May. He's trying to figure out what is triggering Skye's abilities. While they are talking, Coulson calls for back up and since they are on the plane already, May just takes off with them aboard. Not something the Doctor is happy about.

3) There has been a lot of tension between Fitz and Simmons this year. Where the two of them were part of the comic relief of the show, this season they have been anything but. So to have a moment where the almost seem like Fitzsimmons again is very nice. Even if it's gossiping over May and Garner. I think that's one of the things that feels off to me is last season it was Fitzsimmons and Coulson that brought the humor, but they've all been very serious this season and have left the humor up to Hunter and it's not the same.

4) During the climactic moment when Shield is fighting Team Zabo, Skye is on the verge of losing control again and then she turned it inside… fracturing her arms in like 170 places. She has casts put on by Simmons that are somewhat reminiscent of the gauntlets Quake wears in the comics. Here Garner gets more time to talk with Skye and finish his evaluation. As he's leaving he tells May that the best place for Skye is away from SHIELD. May argues that they are as close to Skye has as a family. She asks him to consult but he refuse, saying that SHIELD hasn't changed at all. So we know there is a story behind this and the divorce. Maybe we'll get to it later.

5) One of the things that surprised everyone was how Gordon appeared and pulled Zabo out before the fight started. He ends up back at where ever the Earthbound Inhumans hang out and they're not happy because he's making too much noise. We end with him being taken to see someone… a person who actually makes Zabo nervous.

6) And finally, the Hunter / Mack subplot. Beside taking him to a safe house and handcuffing him to the sink… nothing really happens until the very end of the episode when Mack takes him to a secret base where it's revealed that both Mack and Bobbie Morse are working for…. SHIELD… or rather another SHIELD that is being run by Edward James Olmos and one that doesn't want Phil Coulson in charge. It's like when a band splits up but both groups of members want to use the name…

It's going to be interesting to see how all of this works out and what it will mean when Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out. Will Coulson keep his group going? Will he take over both groups, fold his group into the other and go back to being Agent Coulson? Will the other SHIELD change their name to SWORD? Is Bobbi actually a Cylon?
