Ticket Booth: Despicable Me 3 Baby Driver

Time for another edition of Ticket Booth and it's another relatively slow week at the movies as other studios didn't want to compete with big franchises. In this case it's not Transformers but the third Despicable Me movie. The purpose of this segment is to help people try and figure out what movie they might want to see this weekend. As always I can't tell you how to spend your money because that is entirely up to you. I can only offer my opinion based on the movies I've seen and nothing else.

Ticket Booth: Despicable Me 3 Baby Driver

In this case we're going to be looking at Baby Driver and Despicable Me 3 since they didn't screen The House for us this week.

Ticket Booth: Despicable Me 3 Baby DriverThe younger audience has options this week. Despicable Me 3 is the one that most of the kids are going to want to see. It's also going to be a movie that they are likely to enjoy. This isn't exactly one that parents are going to be able to get out of. If they have kids that want to see this movie then they are going to see this movie. The parents in the audience aren't going to love the movie but it's the summer and the theater has air conditioning. If your kids aren't into the Minions then Cars 3 is still in theaters for your watching pleasure and it's still pretty good. If both or neither of those are options The LEGO Batman Movie is out there and if you were unsure about Power Rangers maybe give that a look if that's something your kid would be into.

Ticket Booth: Despicable Me 3 Baby DriverThe teenagers are the ones that get hit with nothing this week, with the two releases being a kid movie and an R-rated thriller. Transformers: The Last Knight is still a giant waste of your time so it's time to play catch up. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 should be ending its domestic run soon so maybe go see that a second time. It holds up really well. Wonder Woman is still fantastic and also holds up upon second viewing. Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out next week so maybe a marathon of all the Spider-Man movies or the Marvel movies could be fun. War for the Planet of the Apes is also out soon so if you haven't watched those two yet they are worth checking out.

Ticket Booth: Despicable Me 3 Baby Driver If you're an adult then there is only one movie you want to see this weekend and that's Baby Driver. It actually came out on Wednesday and some people have already been checking this one out but it's one of the best movies of the year. It's R-rated but not for excessive gore or sex. There are a lot of people that get shot and some language but it's fairly tame for a R-rated movie. This is probably one that a kid older than sixteen could handle, but I'm not a parent and I can't make that call for you. It's one of the best movies of the year with some great performances including a star making turn by by Ansel Elgort. There is nothing else to suggest because there is nothing else you should be seeing this weekend. Go see Baby Driver and then tell everyone you know to go see it. This is one of the good ones and it deserves to do well.
