Violent Trump Video Based on Kingsman: The Secret Service Shown to Supporters, Condemned

Once of the standout scenes from Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on the Secret Service comic book by Dave Gibbons, Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar involved Colin Firth's character finding himself in a rather fundamentalist church that suddenly gets a lot more fundamental, used as a test for something that turns everyone in there into a rabid, killing monster.

The irony seemed to be lost at a meeting for supports of President Donald Trump, American Priority conference at Trump's Doral Miami resort, with speakers including Donald Trump Jr, Ron DeSantis and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

They were treated to a mashed up version of that scene, with the President's face over that of Colin Firth, as he slaughters himself through people who have been reidentified as, amongst others, PBS, NPR, Politico, The Washington Post, NBC, Mitt Romney, Adam B. Schiff, Rosie O'Donnell, Vice News, CNN, Politico, Black Lives Matter, the BBC, the Guardian, Rachel Maddow, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama and others inside the "Church of Fake News" under the logo for Mr. Trump's 2020 re-election campaign. The video was originally created by pro-Trump team TheGeekzTeam and posted on YouTube over a year ago.

Event organiser Alex Phillips told the New York Times who first reported the footage that "Content was submitted by third parties and was not associated with or endorsed by the conference in any official capacity. American Priority rejects all political violence and aims to promote a healthy dialogue about the preservation of free speech. This matter is under review."

CNN provided the following statement.

A spokesperson for Donald Trump told the New York Times that the video had nothing to do with Trump's re-election campaign and the campaign does not condone violence. The video runs below:

There has been no public comment from Mark Millar, Matthew Vaughn or Dave Gibbons over the matter.
