'War For The Planet Of The Apes' Round-Up: 'Meet Nova' And Two TV Spots
It's time for some more TV spots and a trailer for the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes. We have a standard TV spot that flashes back to key moments in Caesar's life leading up to the war of the title. The second is a short ad confirming that the studio is partnering with the Jane Goodall Institute to help with the rehabilitation of chimpanzees.
Housing on Tchindzoulou Island for rehabilitated chimps will be named "Caesar's Home" after the movies simian hero."
This is a neat little way to do some good while also doing blatant marketing for your film. However, donations are donations no matter what the intentions behind them are. The final trailer we get talks about Nova (Amiah Miller) the little girl that the apes have taken in. We don't know much about her story yet but she looks like she could be the thing to end the war. Or she could be the catalyst for its escalating.
Summary: After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.
War for the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary. It will be released on July 14th.
