Westworld's Showrunners Talk About The Possibility Of A Game Of Thrones Crossover
There has been an idea floating around on the internet about the possibillity of a HBO mega-crossover between Game of Thrones and Westworld, with the pitch essentially being, "what if there was a Westerosworld park in Westworld's universe?"
Well, the idea even came across George R.R. Martin's mind too, who he brought it up with Westworld showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy over dinner before the show aired. Speaking to EW, they both talked about the possibilitiy, with Nolan saying:
We love George and our daughter's first trip anywhere in the world was out to Santa Fe for a screening of The Prestige at his theater, the Jean Cocteau. He's a lovely guy and a stunning writer and it's flattering he would encourage a crossover. We should be so lucky.
I need to be believe that dragons are real. I want them be a real thing. So as much as I love George, I can't lose that for myself!
I mean, I can't see a world where this ever happens, with both shows wanting to probably keep some distance from one another. Not to mention the logistical nightmare this would be. The only way I could see it happening would be if it was a very brief cameo, but even then, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Still, it is fun to speculate, eh?
