Will We See This Old 70's Character In Marvel's Luke Cage?

CottonmouthWith Marvel's Jessica Jones wrapping up production, it's believed that things will fire up right away for Marvel's Luke Cage. But other than Mike Colter playing the main man there really isn't much known at this time. But a rumor coming from Heroic Hollywood is saying that one of the villains for the series may be a character from early Powerman comics… Cornell Cottonmouth.

Cottonmouth is a drug kingpin who plays into Cage's origin by proxy. Willis "Diamondback" Stryker stole some of Cottommouth's drugs and used it to frame Cage for trafficking. Cottonmouth also possessed enhanced strength, allowing him to hold his own against Cage.

Why both villains from the early days of Powerman have snake inspired names I'm not sure. Also, it looks like Cottonmouth has never been updated from his original look as seen to the right. I'm sure that if the character is used, that is something the production department will take care of.

There is no set air date for Marvel's Luke Cage, but later in 2016 seems likely.
