Yooka-Laylee Breaks £1 Million And Runs Out Of Stretch Goals In Under 24 Hours
The Yooka-Laylee train keeps going and it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon. Yesterday, I brought you news that the 'spiritual successor' to Banjo-Kazooie had blown past it's Kickstarter funding in just 45 minutes. Today, less than 24 hours later, the project has now run out of stretch goals.
The campaign has already reached £1 milllion and it still has 45 days left to run. That pace is going to naturally slow down as the campaign goes, but it's certainly feasible that we could be looking at the highest funded Kickstarter game in history. I believe that title is currently held by Toment: Tides of Numenera which funded for $4,188,927.
Playtonic have already added two stretch goals to the campaign for the 1.1 Million and 1.2 Million mark, but I can't imagine those will stand for long. The team better start getting creative if they want to keep that counter moving up!
