A Comic Show – Oh Captain, My Captain

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Florida writes;

Hey Fandom, I'm back with another batch of the best books chosen by me!
Marvel's got the cover story, Steve Rogers is the President! This was probably spoiled for you last week, but if not it's on the cover of Ultimates #16! Commander (In Chief) America! Amazing Spider-man #694 is out and it's not that I'm a Dan Slot hater or even disliker (I've dug plenty of his run), I'm just not excited about Alpha. If you are, awesome. I'm pumped for the big #700, with great numbering comes great storytelling, right?

DC is kicking some ass with a lot of these zero issues. Talon's the best of the third wave. Justice League Dark's young John Constantine was devilishly charming. Aquaman has me itching for who sunk Atlantis, and the retaliation that will be their war with the Justice League! Batman didn't disappoint. Dark Knight had the Joe Chill show down, and Inc has the missing minutes from the meeting of the board.

Happy is the book you all need to check out. Yes, I said It's The Boys meets My Little Pony. I'll stand by that. But it feels more Ennis and Millar and less Invisibles. Perhaps It'll be Morrison's commentary on the tough guy hyper violent thing, whatever the deeper meaning it rocked!
