From BOOM! Studios, Lumberjanes #14, written by Noelle Stevenson and Shannon Watters, with art by Brooke Allen, and colors by Maarta Laiho, starts a new arc Not sure how long this one will last, but after reading the issue, the suspense is already killing me The great thing about Lumberjanes is, it's not only a[...]

Welcome to Part Two of my Lumberjanes binge read! From BOOM! Well, this week I stumbled upon Lumberjanes from BOOM! Box, an imprint of BOOM! Studios, written by Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis, with art by Brooke Allen, and colors by Maarta Laiho When I glanced at the cover of the new issue I noticed that they were twelve issues in, but I was up for the[...]
And who better to write the Runaways than the co-creator of Lumberjanes, Noelle Stevenson, with X-artist Sanford Greene?
And a choice of realities gives us "teen" characters from all sorts of books, from Bucky Barnes to Jubilee to Ultimate Cloak And Dagger…
Most of the characters are established Marvel teens, but you'll find them a little different here[...]
Why? Because the use of color and lighting is superior to the TV filmed fight scenes and helps me discern key "moments" when characters are growing beyond their previous roles and impressing the audience.
Another feature to note and praise is the addition of Noelle Stevenson's shorts at the back of these issues, both drawn and[...]
Written by Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis with the vignette bifurcated issue #9's art handled by a multitude of female artists, this is the kind of by-girls, for-girls comic that also dares to dally in a different kind of story, pre-teens at a summer camp, while experimenting with form and content to hilarious and vibrant[...]
But with all the Christmas cheer floating around like a blissful fog, is there something that's missing? More tinsel? A Santa hat? How about a Lumberjane's scary story-palooza?
YES, WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE A WINNER!
In addition to the regularly brilliant writing talents of Noelle Stevenson and Shannon Watters with the fabulous illustrations and colors by Brittney Williams[...]
We've known he's a big fan of comics for a while, albeit a fan of Ed Brubaker and not Grant Morrison. Now wrestler CM Punk will be putting his money were his not inconsiderable mouth is and writing a Thor story for February's Thor Annual, drawn by Chew's Rob Guillory.
They will also be joined by Lumberjanes' Noelle[...]
Learning that Lumberjanes' Noelle Stevenson was doing the back up features further charmed me The artwork for both the main story and back up are simply spectacular and enter into the spirit of the show and mythos so fully that they seem to tap the same cultural inspiration of the show without being at all[...]
Noelle Stevenson talked about the great reception Lumberjanes has received ("we [thought] we could do whatever we wanted and nobody would care… (we were) amazingly" wrong… everybody noticed!"), perspectives on "queered" storylines were shared, and plenty more.
The moderator expanded the discussion into familiar, if not LGBT-particular territory in asking a question to Wonder Woman uber-alum[...]
Hilarity ensues, and no adventure would be complete without being delivered unwillingly to a river monster. All is well though, and the last page gives us a teaser of what is to come in the next issue.
Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis do a fantastic job at keeping it lighthearted, as well as imaginative[...]

It's a great comic and I was lucky enough to meet three of the friendliest, most enthusiastic comic creators, Brooke Allen, Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis, in the business, and get their signatures on my copy.
Another comic that's making an impression at ECCC is Southern Bastards Jason Aaron and Jason Latour are doing panels and[...]
It all sounds very good (and quite different from Smoke) and there's a strong chance I'll be talking about it more in future columns.
