"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 "210 Words Per Minute": Our Heroes' Good Deeds Won't Go Unpunished [PREVIEW]

If you're a fan of the Walking Dead universe, things are pretty sweet right now – especially from the perspective of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. Aside from having an epic appearance at this year's Comic-Con International: San Diego (or SDCC to most of us), we learned not only had the series been picked up for a sixth season, but also that the second-half will see the arrival of some new survivors. Colby Minifie (Jessica Jones), Peter Jacobson (The Americans), newcomer Colby Hollman, and Holly Curran (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) join the series when it returns – and we even got a new trailer for the final episodes for this season (no worries: FTWD will be back for a sixth go-around).

Two things impressed us about midseason return "Channel 4": the fact that we began to see much more of the hope and promise that was promised going into this season – and the build-up of a formidable "big bad" in the form of Logan (Matt Frewer). As the post-zombie apocalypse begins to take shape and different forces fight for control, there's a prize possession in play that can sway power towards whoever controls it: gasoline. Some people – like Morgan (Lennie James) and our heroes – want it to expand their ability to help others – to make a connection.

Logan and his crew? Not so much… and as you're about to see in the following preview for next week's episode "210 Words Per Minute," that's going to require a little strategy – as Dwight (Austin Amelio) fears old ghosts (and bad habits) will rear their ugly heads once more:

Season 5, episode 10 "210 Words Per Minute": Morgan and Grace search an abandoned shopping mall for supplies and to fulfill a dying man's wish but the mission quickly turns to a fight for survival; Dwight's resolve to be a better man is tested.

Season 5, episode 11 "You're Still Here": Alicia and Strand answer a call for help; Morgan and Al hit a roadblock.

Season 5, episode 12 "Ner Tamid": In search of a permanent home, Charlie encounters a rabbi struggling to survive on his own.

Season 5, episode 13 "Leave What You Don't": Logan's motives are revealed; Sarah and Dwight negotiate; a dangerous threat emerges.

Season 5, episode 14 "Today and Tomorrow": A survivor sends Al and Morgan into a dangerous settlement where Al chases a lead.

Season 5, episode 15 "Channel 5": The group searches for a new home; concerned for Grace, Morgan makes a tough call.

Season 5, episode 16 "End of the Line": Facing an unknown future, Morgan leads the group on a mission; John and June make a promise.

Heading into season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead, the group's mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what's left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts.

But trust won't be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in unchartered territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.

Earlier this year, FTWD cast member Alexa Nisenson (ex-Vulture Charlie) was promoted from recurring to series regular for the upcoming season. Joining Nisenson are Karen David (Legacies, Galavant) as series regular Grace, The Walking Dead alum Austin Amelio reprising ex-Savior Dwight, and the returning Ruben Blades as Daniel Salazar. Bailey Gavulic (Prodigal, At The End Of The Day) plays young survivor Annie, who ends up crossing paths with our crew alongside Cooper Dodson's (American Horror Story, Preacher) Dylan and Ethan Suess' (Scorpion, Henry Danger) Max. Matt Frewer (Max Headroom, The Stand) also joined the cast as shady denim factory co-owner Logan. Colby Minifie (Jessica Jones, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Peter Jacobson (House, The Americans), newcomer Colby Hollman, and Holly Curran (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) are set to join the series in the second-half of the season.
