Gotham Season 4: Jerome is Building a League of Horribles and the New Poison Ivy

It may not be the catches of names, but according to Gotham executive producers Danny Cannon and John Stephens, Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) want to bring Arkham Asylum to Gotham City and to do so, he needs a team. Part of the rest of the season is him putting together his League of Horribles, which includes Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) as his right hand man, as well as Scarecrow (David W. Thompson), Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) Firefly (Camila Perez), and Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow). All of this will be building towards a cataclysmic event. What other villains will sit at the table? Riddler (Corey Michael Smith)? Solomon Grundy (Drew Powell)? Barbara Kean (Erin Richards)? There are so many to choose from.

Gotham – Peyton List as Ivy Pepper

The most interesting may be the one who has gone through the most change, Ivy Pepper, aka Poison Ivy. Peyton List becomes the third actress to play the role and according to Cannon and Stephens, this version is far more confident, intelligent, and deadly. She is on a mission to hurt those that hurt her, and nothing will get in her way. The character is the most drastic example of what the series is doing, growing the characters into their comic book counterparts that everyone knows and loves. Ivy just started off very young with actress Clare Foley in the first two seasons before being aged up to adulthood and played my Maggie Geha and now she has taken a mystical compound and transformed once more into List. Each time her character grew in ruthlessness and cunning.

Gotham returns this week with a new episode Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. The video below includes a segment with Cannon and Stephens talking about the series return starting roughly at the 7:15 mark.
