Jeph Loeb Thinks the Canceled Netflix Shows Could "Reemerge"

The final nail in the coffin went into the Marvel-Netflix universe today. It was announced that The Punisher would not be renewed for a third season and that the upcoming third season of Jessica Jones would be it's last. With that, all six Marvel shows have now been canceled and we can consider that corner of the Marvel universe closed for now. The future is a little more nebulous since Disney does own a large share of Hulu and the shows could make their way over there. In an interview with Decider, which was conducted before these final two cancelations occurred, and said that he thinks the canceled shows could return.

"I would not be surprised if any of those things reemerged. It depends on showrunner, it depends on availability of cast, all of those things. It's not like we're a doctor show where the show got canceled because of bad ratings," Loeb said. "These are shows that have very different reasons [for ending], most of which I'm not at liberty to talk about, nor should anyone really care at the end of day."

While Loeb didn't want to talk about the reasons for why the shows got canceled, he did seem to imply that this was not a Marvel decision but a Netflix one. This has been a pretty common response from Marvel since Iron Fist was canceled and started this whole thing.

"In the Netflix situations, that was a situation where the network made a decision and we had nothing to say about it."

At the moment we're waiting for a release date for Jessica Jones season three but considering the cancelation, we should probably expect it to drop sooner rather than later.
