Legends of Tomorrow Season 4: New Poster and Why Constantine Doesn't Join the Team Right Away
DCTV is getting ready to make a big return in the month of October. Legends of Tomorrow is taking on an interesting role this year as they seem to be keeping themselves separate from the other shows in a couple of different ways. The main one is they are not involved with the major crossover set to take place in December. That doesn't mean we can't expect some great things from the most bonkers side of DCTV. First we have a new poster that was shared on Twitter features the team
Executive producer Phil Klemme spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about bringing on a big, new player this season and that is Matt Ryan's John Constantine. However, fans that are hoping that Constantine will join the Legends in the first episode are going to be a little disappointed that he doesn't join up right away.
The reason we held back on making him a Legend is we always wanted to keep that shroud of mystery around him. We didn't want to have him acclimate ever to being integrated with the team. [We] selfishly wanted to create some new mystery around him for our show.
This is a different Constantine than the one we've seen previous and considering that this season of the show is going to be leaning into magic and the supernatural.
"So between dropping off the dragon's head and knocking on Sara [Caity Lotz] and Ava's [Jes Macallan] door in the middle of the night in the premiere, he lived a very eventful five months," Klemmer adds. "He was in a pretty good spot, relatively for Constantine, but we wanted him to be darker, more troubled, more mysterious. That's something for the audience to have to unravel: What happened to Constantine during the offseason and why has he changed?">/blockquote>
We can hope they don't drag the reveal of what happened to Constantine throughout the entire season. Perhaps it will be revealed when he finally decides to join the Legends on a permanent basis.
Summary: Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.
Legends of Tomorrow, created by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Phil Klemmer, stars Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Matt Ryan, and Courtney Ford. It will air on the CW at 8:00pm/9:00pm est on October 22nd.
