Peacemaker S02 "Important" to DCU; Chris-on-Chris Action in New Clip
The QUC comes into play in a big way in this clip from Peacemaker; James Gunn on Season 2 being "incredibly important" to setting up the DCU.
On Wednesday night, writer/director James Gunn, series stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodriguez, and more hit the town for the red-carpet premiere of HBO Max's Peacemaker Season 2. But for those of us who couldn't be there, we weren't left empty-handed. Cena also found some time to stop by NBC's The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (in costume, of course) to talk up the returning series and being a part of Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran's DCU. In addition, he brought along a clip (beginning at around the 8:15 mark in the video below) that shows more of that Peacemaker-on-Peacemaker smackdown (yes, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, aka QUC, comes into play in a very big way). But first, Gunn shares how important the second season of the HBO Max series is to laying out more of what the DCU is all about.
"It's a big part, definitely 'Superman' leads directly into 'Peacemaker;' it should be noted that this is for adults, not for children, but 'Superman' leads into this show and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of 'Peacemaker,' it's incredibly important, Gunn shared with The Hollywood Reporter during Wednesday night's red-carpet premiere. "Lots of guest stars coming up, lots of characters that are showing up that we've already met in Superman. I don't think there's anything that I've ever done that I love more than this season of 'Peacemaker,' so I'm so excited for people to see it."
James Gunn Reveals Season 2 Opening Credits Song/Band
First formed in 2004, Foxy Shazam would break up in 2014, only to reunite again in 2020. The band's current lineup includes lead vocalist Eric Nally, pianist Sky White, trumpeter/backing vocalist Alex Nauth, bassist Existential Youth, guitarist Devin Williams, and drummer Teddy Aitkins. Here's a look at Gunn making the reveal, followed by a music video for the track:

The series follows Christopher "Chris" Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante superhero, as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evildoer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost. During the second season, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.
Gunn penned the eight-episode season, and directed three of the season's episodes. Gunn, Peter Safran, and Matt Miller serve as executive producers, with Cena as co-executive producer. In addition, Lars Winther, John H. Starke, and John Rickard serve as producers. Max's Peacemaker was produced by The Safran Company and Troll Court Entertainment in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios.
