Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon's Cord and Tish Return as 2019 Rose Parade Hosts
Not content with shattering ratings records and elevating the royal wedding coverage specifically — and broadcast journalism as a whole — with their coverage of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, "broadcast legends" Cord Hosenbeck (Will Ferrell) and Tish Cattigan (Molly Shannon) are returning to their WGA Award-nominated roots. Hosenbeck and Cattigan will "host" the 2019 Rose Parade live on FunnyOrDie.com and its social platforms as well as on Twitch, with Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live) returning as Cord and Tish's field reporter.
Funny or Die's The 2019 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish will air live globally on New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, starting at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT; and will be available via video on-demand after the live airing.
When you consider how last year's Rose Parade ended for Cord and Tish, fans were pleasantly surprised to hear that the "dynamic duo: would return for this year's coverage:
"Tish and I wait all year for this and this year it's going to be the biggest, the best, the most fun parade ever!"
– Cord Hosenbeck
"Pasadena in January! I wouldn't miss it for the world!"
– Tish Cattigan
During their live coverage of The Royal Wedding in May 2018, Cord had an on-air near-death experience after Tish looked to rid Cord of his fear of horses through "exposure therapy":
"This wedding is going to be a blast. There will be more luxury packed into that church than all the Bed, Bath & Beyonds combined."
– Cord Hosenbeck
"Every little girl dreams of growing up and marrying a prince! Now I get to be front-row center of this fairytale romance. I'll be crying all day!"
– Tish Cattigan
A frequent television and radio host, Hosenbeck has authored over 30 books on a wide variety of subjects ranging from diet to dressing for success. Having previously served as Miss Arizona, Cattigan has written books about relationships, co-dependency, marriage and wellness; and is fondly remembered for her two-episode run as Assistant D.A. Keller on NBC's L.A. Law.
