Stargirl Season 1 Preview: Courtney's JSA Recruitment Drive Continues
Heading into this week's episode of DC Universe and The CW's Stargirl, Courtney's (Brec Bassinger) new Justice Society has a new "plus-one" in the form of Yolanda Montez (Yvette Monreal) aka Wildcat, who has her own heartbreaking backstory for joining the team. With this week's "Hourman and Dr. Mid-Nite," it's not too much of a spoiler to say that the team's destined to grow by at least two more (savvy prediction there). Then there's Pat (Luke Wilson) aka S.T.R.I.P.E., who's splitting his time between worrying about keeping Courtney alive and the growing conspiracies beginning to cast their shadows across Blue Valley. Just ask the late Zarick's (Joe Knezevich) widow Denise (Cynthia Evans). Well, you could if she was in any condition to talk but it looks like that might not be happening any time soon. As you're about to see in the following preview images, promo, and episode overview, Courtney and Pat's respective missions might end up leading them to the same deadly answers:
Stargirl season 1, episode 5 "Hourman and Dr. Mid-Nite": HALLOWEEN IN BLUE VALLEY — As Courtney (Brec Bassinger) sets her sights on recruiting more members to the Justice Society of America, Pat (Luke Wilson) finds himself one step closer to learning which ISA members may be in Blue Valley. Meanwhile, a search for Rick (Cameron Gellman) leads Courtney, Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) and Beth (Anjelika Washington) to Cindy Burman's (Meg DeLacy) Halloween party. David Straiton directed the episode written by Melissa Carter.
A Look at Who's Who in Stargirl Season One
Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) and S.T.R.I.P.E. will need to form their own JSA for what's ahead, and a new generation of hero will answer the call: Anjelika Washington's Beth Chapel aka Doctor Mid-Nite, Yvette Monreal's Yolanda Montez aka Wildcat, and Cameron Gellman's Rick Tyler aka Hourman. The Injustice Society ranks include Henry King aka Brainwave (Christopher James Baker), Jordan Mahkent aka Icicle (Neil Jackson), Paula Brooks aka Tigress (Joy Osmanski); Lawrence "Crusher" Crock aka Sportsmaster (Neil Hopkins); and Dr. Ito aka Dragon King (Nelson Lee).
The live-action series also stars Amy Smart (Barbara Whitmore), Joel McHale (Sylvester Pemberton aka Starman), Lou Ferrigno Jr. (Rex Tyler aka Hourman), Brian Stapf (Ted Grant aka Wildcat). Joining them this season: Henry Thomas (Dr. Charles McNider aka Dr. Mid-Nite), Meg DeLacy (Cindy aka Dragon King's daughter), and Trae Romano (Courtney's step-brother). Jake Austin Walker (Rectify), Hina Khan (Hit The Floor), and newcomer Hunter Sansone are also on board. Johns executive produces with Melissa Carter (Queen Sugar), who serves as co-showrunner, as well as Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Based on the characters from DC created by Johns, Stargirl is produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
