Supergirl Season 3: CW Releases Title and 6 Images for Penultimate Episode
The CW has been pretty consistent in releasing around photos and synopsis for episodes well in advance of the episodes airing. In the case of Supergirl, they usually release the synopsis and around a dozen images two weeks ahead. For example, after the airing of the 'Dark Side of the Moon' episode, #20, on Monday we would normally get the stuff for episode #22 the day after. But with the #22 episode being the penultimate of the season, the network appears to have changed things up. We now have the title for the episode, 'Make it Reign', and six images. No synopsis.
What can we take away from that? The next episode is called 'Not Kansas', and while the previous episode ended with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Reign (Odette Annable) about to fight while Mon-El (Chris Wood) tries to get the black kryptonite to Lena (Katie McGrath), the trailer for the episode shows a goodbye part for Supergirl. It appears she is going to go be with her mother, Alura (Erica Durance) and the other Kryptonians in Argo City.
The images here show Supergirl, Mon-El, Alura, and Alex (Chyler Leigh) ready to fight something but we don't see what and there are no images of Reign at all. This means that they may be hiding Reign's appearance, because it changes after contact with the black kryptonite. Which might explain why the trailer for No Kansas focused on Supergirl leaving so we don't see what happens to Reign / Sam.
The image of Supergirl posing in front of the flag is nice. And is no one going to ask Mon-El why there is a space on his chest where it look like the House of El symbol is supposed to be?
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
