From Phonogram #6…

And from The Heat, Kieron Gillen's upcoming series from Avatar;

1.2

And we're on a man, who's just climbed over the ridge of a hill and descending the other side towards us. We're close enough so we can't see much of his surroundings. He's heading down what appear to be metallic steps. On either side of him, along the lay of the land, we have solar panels, each about a couple of metres square. Since we're in the shade, we can see their shimmering surface. If they were in direct sunlight, they'd be pure white.

The man's wearing one of the lowest level protective suits we see in the Heat. It's an air-tight suit with gas canisters on the back, made of a tough fabric… but none of the heavy reflective material which we'll see later. These suits are designed for the bits on Mercury where there's a a perfectly acceptable for temperature, so all this suit is protecting him from is the vacuum. He's a construction worker, so the suit is robust and protective – not enough to really slow him down. The real sealed element is the helmet, which has wide, thick transparent section at the front, stretching out to the sides to give him peripheral vision. The suit I see in black or grey in terms of colouring. No personal decoration. It's not really his suit. It's owned by someone else.

Behind him, over the edge of the hill, we can see a brighter light. The implication of dawn…

The sky is black, but with stars. There's no sky on Mercury.
