Two White Lantern Error Rings Spotted – But Why All The Fuss?

The White Lantern rings are part of the long standing Blackest Night promotion, where different coloured plastic rings could be ordered in bags by retailers to give away with certain comic titles, in accordance with the multi-colour Green Lantern ring plot.

But the White Lantern rings have already suffered from allocation to some stores being served out of the Memphis Diamond Comics Distributors centre, with some retailers receiving a reduced number of these promotional items with Brightest Day #1, some receiving none.

Initially, DC offered free bags of the black and green rings to sffected retailers, as well as copies of the Brightest Day #1 Variant in recompense. They also offered the variant to retailers who volunteered to return some of the bags of white rings to help out their fellow retailer.

But DC have now announced they are to create a new production run of the giveaway white rings. These will be given free to those who didn't receive the rings they should have in time. And will also be given to retailers who voluntarily returned some of the rings.
