Marvel Studios Look To Bring The Noise For Atlantic City's Comic Con
A trusted Little Bleeder who wishes to remain anonymous writes for Bleeding Cool,
If my information adds up, Marvel will be bringing a heck of a Marvel Film panel to a brand new con in the North East in 2015
I work in a popular New York midtown attraction. A few months back we had two guys come in and I started chatting with them, when I asked them what their day jobs were they said "Oh we work for Marvel" and I said "That's cool, what do you do there?" they said "Oh we help design the booth for the conventions", I replied "Nice, what are you folks planning on doing for NYCC?" and they explained they weren't quite sure yet regarding panels but that the film division wasn't coming like they did with the first Avengers movie in 2011.
However they might bring the *spoiler alert* destroyed Captain America shield from Age Of Ultron that they had at the booth at SDCC. Following this, one mentions "You should look into ACBC we are bringing out everyone for that show" (now what exactly everyone implies wasn't clear, but to me it meant something big is happening), and I went "cool thanks" and they went on their way.
Now flash forward to this past weekend, and the puzzle pieces started to come together to validate this. At the Marvel booth [at New York Comic Con] during their giveaway hours they kept mentioning "Anyone that can show me they like the ACBC facebook page gets (insert prize here)" they also interviewed the head of the con Michael D'Alessio on their Marvel NYCC Live webcast, they have some stake in this convention obviously. So I finally decide to look up this thing, ACBC is the Atlantic City Boardwalk Convention, it is brand new and I find this on their press release "ACBC is brought to life by the creative team behind award-winning booth designs and event marketing campaigns for clients including Marvel and 2K Games, and is aimed at bringing a "full-fledged convention experience" to the East Coast at the start of convention season." Now the only thing that may throw this off regarding Avengers, is that Age Of Ultron is released May 1st and the con is May 14th-17th, now that doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be some Age Of Ultron cast panel as a victory lap/thank you to the fans kind of deal, however, it leads me to believe there will be something involving Marvel Film (possibly Ant-Man as it sees its release July 17th and maybe more) at this con.
