IDW are to follow up with translating the famous and influential European graphic novel series Corto Maltese with another rather well regarded series, the childhood memoir Paracuellos. by Spanish creator Carlos Giménez, which found success in FRance, then all over Europe.

On the Comics Journal boards, IDW editor Dean Mullaney writes,

For the second series in our EuroComics imprint we turn to the Iberian peninsula and what many (including me!) consider the most important graphic memoir comics to have ever been published in Europe—"Paracuellos," Carlos Giménez's poignant stories of being forced to grow up, along with thousands of other "children of the defeated," in church-run "orphanages" in Franco's fascist Spain. Will Eisner says, "Carlos Giménez speaks with humor and sensitivity to the human condition. His work is international."
