Heroes Haven is a graphic novel that attempts to channels the look and feel of the 1980s underground to present a dark future on the verge of a self-made apocalypse.

The Heroes Haven collection by Mario Simone, collecting the limited comic book series previously only available through the convention circuit, premiered at San Diego Comic-Con this year with a three day event drawing the likes Grant Morrison, Kevin Eastman, and Pierce the Veil guitar player Tony Perry.

Heroes Haven introduces a grim future where warring nations battle for global domination. After a DNA strand is discovered to awaken the "super human" characteristics hidden in any of us, the US government finances a top secret facility called "Heroes Haven" where the top biotech scientists are working to create and test a new drug to both awaken and stabilize this superhero DNA Code. When this "V-1" drug bears fruit, these findings trigger an epic global battle to gain control over the key to a new world order…

The book arrives in stores on October 5th, just one day before New York Comic Con, where the series first premiered in 2013. And here's the first issue.
