Superman Never Wore His Underwear On The Outside – And Now He Never Will

Why does Superman wear his underwear on the outside? It's a commonly asked question for decades.

images234It's commonly believed that Superman's costume was modelled on the strongman look of the day, wearing trunks/shorts on top of leggings. And that was the way the Superman costme was meant to be. Last week's issue of Action Comics saw the young Jonathan Kent, the new Superboy, asking his father, the old Superman, why he went with the New 52 underwearless version of the costume, rather than his pre-Flashpoint red knickers look.

And, to be fair, to everyone else as well.

Still. Everything is looking different these days. Such as Dr Destiny in today's Nightwing. Who, yes, does look a lot like Skeletor.

Well, this is what he's looking like now. If I was Superman, I'd be grateful for any kind of underwear . Say, what does Skeletor look like? From He-Man/Thundercats….
