Man of Steel 2: Zack Snyder to Direct Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead

It looks like we'll be getting a follow-up to Zack Snyder's 2013 love letter to Ayn Rand, Man of Steel, after all, but not quite in the way we might expect. Snyder revealed that he'll be making a movie out of Rand's The Fountainhead as his next project on Vero, the social media platform whose sole reason for existence is to serve as a source of Zack Snyder quotes for clickbait entertainment news articles, except they're always sourced from screencaps posted to Twitter because nobody has the time to make a Vero account just to see what Zack Snyder is saying.

The Fountainhead is about an architect named Howard Roark who stays true to his architectural vision despite pressure to conform, kind of like Zack Snyder stuck to his dark vision for the DCEU despite pressure from critics and Warner Bros executives. Can you see where this is going? In the book, Roark faces off against Ellsworth Toohey, a critic who gives negative reviews to true works of art while praising soulless examples of conformity, just like critics panned the grimdark tone and murderous Superman of Snyder's DCEU, giving the movies poor review scores on Rotten Tomatoes. We haven't read the book, but we presume Roark needs to quit his architectural masterpiece before it's complete due to a personal tragedy, so the builders bring in alleged fake feminist Joss Whedon to finish the building, but Whedon turns it into a Burger King instead and makes Cyborg say "booyah." Meanwhile, Toohey probably gave Star Wars: The Last Jedi a 5-star review! What the hell, right?! Again, that's just speculation.

In any case, it looks like this Snyder Cut will be more Snyder-y than even the Snyder Cut of Justice League would have been, which should be good news for Snyderbronies. No word on when the project will be made.
