Amazing Comic Con Aloha Reschedules to February 2019, Neal Adams and Kevin Eastman Put On a Show Anyway
It was a rollercoaster of a weekend of the Amazing Comic Con Aloha, scheduled to run from Friday in Honolulu as Hurricane Lane was due to hit. On the day it was meant to start, the show was cancelled after its bookeed location, the Hawaii Convention Center was closed to the public.
Or, rather, the show was postponed. It has now been rescheduled to February 22nd to 24th, 2019.
And they have confirmed some of their confirmed talent will be making the trip to that show as well, including Infinity Gauntlet creators Jim Starlin, George Perez and Ron Lim, as well as Neal Adams and Jason David Frank.
In a statement, show organiser Jimmy Hay stated "We were disappointed to cancel our original dates due to circumstances beyond our control but we are happy to be able to announce replacement dates expeditiously. Hawaii has been great to us and we can't wait to come back in February 2019 with some of our original guests and all new talent to share their Aloha spirit with the people of Hawaii!!"
Refunds are not yet being issued, and the show is evading direct questions about that. rather attendees who purchased tickets and packages for the original show will be able to use their already purchased tickets for the rescheduled dates. For everyone else, tickets will go on sale beginning after Labor Day from $25.
And a number of guests who made it to the islands before the shutdown are making public appearances this weekend in other locations. And in some cases fulfilling VIP package deals sold by the show.
Kevin Eastman will be at Other Realms on Sunday.
And Neal Adams will be making appearances through the weekend at the Hilton Hawaiian Hotel.
More to come…
