Such a strange choice for HBO to make, but the Game of Thrones reunion special will NOT be airing on the cable network, and will instead be released on DVD.

Specifically, in the complete series box set following the completion of the 8th and final season of the series, which will air beginning in the first half of 2019.

This is theoretically the special Sean Bean said Conan O'Brien filmed with the cast on set in Belfast earlier this year.

We'll let you know when we hear about the specific premiere date for Game of Thrones season 8, and any other tidbits we learn from Westeros.
