A Japanese Otter Mascot Wants to Wrestle John Oliver
Frankly, my money is on the mascot.
The Japanese city of Susaki is home to two otters named Chiitan. The first Chiitan is a cute little otter who lives in the city, and the other is a deranged costumed mascot that wears a turtle for a hat.
Chiitan (the mascot) has been rising to fame lately, mostly due to her hilarious videos in which she assaults things with a bat, or tries to ride a treadmill. It's really off kilter stuff, but hilarious:
For a brief period of time, Chiitan was even considered an "unofficial" mascot for Susaki City, until complaints from concerned citizens caused the city to sever ties with the costumed otter.
John Oliver did a segment on Chiitan on his HBO show, Last Week Tonight. During this segment, he introduced his own costumed mascot, Chiijohn. The new mascot was designed, Oliver claims, to "fill the whole in Shinjokun's heart". (Shinjo-kun is the official otter mascot of Susaki City)
The segment is pretty funny, with plenty of Chiitan action intersperced with shots of Chiijohn and Shinjo-kun out on the town:
Now, as might be expected of any lunatic in an otter costume, Chiitan is not pleased. She's calling for a smack-down opportunity to settle her beef with Oliver in person:

I'm a huge fan of Chiitan, and have been following her on Twitter for a while now. I would pay top dollar for the opportunity for this billing to happen, especially in some official capacity with the WWE. Considering Oliver's recent expose on the wrestling entertainment show, CEO Vince McMahon might be all too interested in seeing this happen!
Oliver is pretty thrilled about the call-out, too:
So, who do you think would win? Chiitan, the otter with a fondness for blunt instruments, or "Mr. British Birb" John Oliver, who famously lacks upper body strength?
