Report: TNT Orders Season 2 of 'Snowpiercer' Before Season 1 Even Airs
In a strange rail twist for TNT's troubled Snowpiercer series, a second season order has been given before the first even airs.
If you'll recall, the series had some issues stemming from creative differences in the purest sense of the term, with showrunner Josh Friedman left the project early on, and director of the pilot Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) refused to return for reshoots when the new showrunner Graeme Manson needed changes made.
Renewed/Cancelled says the renewal was done "quietly", and we'll let you know if we hear about a confirmation.
We know that filming wrapped in January, and that a "summer release" was teased.
Starring as series lead is Jennifer Connelly (Dark City, The Labyrinth) who plays a passenger residing in first-class on the train, Melanie Cavill. Annalise Basso, Sasha Frolova, Benjamin Haigh, Katie McGuinness, Sam Otto, Susan Park, Mickey Sumner, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Alison Wright. And, two former Broadway Tony winners are also on board- Hamilton's Daveed Diggs, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch's Lena Hall.
We'll let you know what we hear about a release date for Snowpiercer season 1 on TNT.
