900,000 Copies Of Each Of Red Giant Entertainment's Comics Coming To Stores In December
In December, Red Giant Entertainment is publishing a new line of comics, previously seen during this year's Free Comic Book Day. That saw four comics bagged together and given away free, but the publisher isn't stopping there.
They have announced that Diamond Comic Distributors orders from comic stores for their December launch of several titles are of the magnitude of 900,000 each, around ten times the number of the usual top selling titles.
And how? Because Red Giant are giving these away free, funded by advertising content in the comics themselves.
December will see Red Giant launch Giant-Size Action, Giant-Size Fantasy, Giant-Size Adventure and Giant-Size Thrills issue 1s. With, it seems, a giant size circulation….
GIANT-SIZE ACTION will feature TESLA (a buddy action series featuring historical characters Nicola Tesla and Mark Twain), written by Terry Keefe & David Lawrence with art by Bong Dazo; and WAYWARD SONS (modern descendants of mythic heroes, now in development as a feature film), written by Benny Powell and illustrated by Nigel Raynor.
GIANT-SIZE FANTASY offers DUEL IDENTITY (America's favorite female hero is secretly a deadly spy) written by Elaine Lee with art by Jon Lam & Candice Han; and THE FIRST DAUGHTER (the commander-in-chief's superpowered daughter leads a team of time-displaced presidential offspring fighting an alien invasion), written by Chris Crosby & Mike Rosenzweig with art by Tina Francisco.
GIANT-SIZE ADVENTURE will premiere AMPED (disabled children given enhanced android bodies for mobility) written by Brian Augustyn with art by Pasquale Qualano; and MAGIKA (based on Red Giant's upcoming JOURNEY TO MAGIKA animated feature film about a young boy who finds himself in a fantastical land) written by Kevin Juaire & David Lawrence with art by Wilson Tortosa & Sebastian Cheng.
GIANT-SIZE THRILLS launches MONSTER ISLE (teens accidentally unleash monsters from an abandoned amusement park) written by Larry Hama with art by Aurelio Massara; and PANDORA'S BLOGS (a supernatural romance about a young blogger uncovering the mysteries of her new town), by David Campiti, Jinky Coronado & Larry Tuazon.
