Advance Review: "Donut Worry" Jonesy #2 Is Delightful!
Jonesy has had quite a journey in the last month. The success of the comic has put a big smile on my face, and I'm sure Sam Humphries and Caitlin Rose Boyle are pretty excited too. This week brings the release of the second issue in which Jonesy uses her powers a little too much while at the local talent show. However, while managing her fathers "Donut Worry" stand she makes a new friend.
I found this issue to be just as good as the first. The story continues in the same light, fun, and quirky spirit that started off the series. I really adore Jonesy's character, and in this issue we get to see a bit more vulnerability from her. With new friendship, comes change. Humphries writes a delightful unique script, and with Boyle's art, it's pure joy to flip through the pages. I do want to comment on the mention of Jonesy's crush, Pop Superstar, Stuff. I can only hope that this was Humphries and Boyle's way of throwing in some fun nostalgia. He reminded me of the singer from Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. The one that sings "Zoom…zoom…zoom!" Ring a bell, anyone?
Besides that, I'm super pumped for the future of this comic, and you should be too. There's so much potential there, and it's also really cute. You just can't beat adding a cute comic to your pull list. Be sure to grab your copy of Jonesy #2 before they sell out!
