Avengers #1 To Receive A Retailer-Personalised Cover

Avengers #1 To Receive A Retailer-Personalised CoverIDW and Godzilla's impact on the comics industry continues. The launch of that book, and the retailer-specific covers that saw comic stores appearing on the very comics they were selling, have been taken on by a number of publishers since. But none more than Marvel Comics.

And it looks as if their next will be with the release of Avengers #1 in December as part of the Marvel NOW relaunch, according to an early rogue listing on the Diamond retailer order form for December.

Previous Marvel examples have seen everything from the retailer's name appearing as signage in a scene on the cover, a Wanted sign being held by a character, or Spider-Man holding a newspaper showing the store in question.

Though since this is Avengers, may I suggest a return to Godzilla #1 and show the team smashing the store in question into smithereens, mid-battle?
