Avengers Vs X-Men #0, #1 And #2 All Go To Third Prints
So, the massive incentives retailers were given to order massive amounts of Avengers Vs X-Men comics have not only see the comics sell through once but also twice.
I understand that Marvel is going back to print on Avengers Vs X-Men #0, #1 and #2 for a third time.
That all Avengers Vs X-Men tie-in titles are also all going to second prints, all orders for upcoming tie ins have had major jumps.
And that, despite predictions of attrition of sales after the big incentives, orders for issue 4 have already outstripped orders for issue 3.
Sales are going… up.
When Fear Itself was published, although sales were relatively high, tie-ins were unaffected, and spinoff series dredged the bottom of sales barrel. It felt like the crossover event model had broken, and was feeding off itself, a culmination of a trend in Final Crisis and Secret Invasion. With Avengers Vs X-Men, Marvel have reversed that.
Next year, Fantastic Four Vs X-Men?
