Batman's James Tynion IV Creates a Court of Owls Moment At Boom Studios #NYCC Panel
Earlier this week, new-Batman writer James Tynion IV teased there was a Something is Killing The Children surprise at today's Boom Studios: Discover Yours publisher panel.
And today we learned what he meant. Every attendee of the Discover Yours panel was provided with a limited edition Something is Killing The Children prop replica ace bandana – just like the one Erica Slaughter wears when fighting monsters.
Tynion IV urged the crowd to wear theirs and welcomed the "real" Erica Slaughter from Buffalo comic shop Pulp 716 to lead the crowd in pledging their support to the writer and, uh, killing monsters.

We can't help but notice that this visual isn't unlike what previous Batman writer (and Tynion's mentor) Scott Snyder orchestrated at San Diego Comic-Con in 2012.
Now we can't know for sure, but could Snyder and Tynion be signalling their own gang warfare between their fans? And will Donny Cates' Catesbronies be far behind?
It looks like the comic book industry could be headed towards an Anchorman style conflict and I, for one, can't wait to report on it. Or perhaps this was just Tynion's way of celebrating the fifth printing of Something is Killing The Children #1, which may push that issue past 50,000 units sold.
