Diamond's Best Practice Awards For Fall 2015 – The Comic Store, Gosh Comics, Dragon's Lair And Comic City
Handed out at the Baltimore Diamond Retailer Summit yesterday, the Diamond Best Practice Awards for comic book retailers…
Best Charity Fundraiser
The Comic Store – Lancaster, Pennsylvania
The money raised from the additional purchases goes toward buying graphic novels for the Lancaster County Bookmobile…. The county library system told Miller how the Bookmobile was lacking in graphic novels. "I found out this was a needy area and often gets forgotten," he said. "The Bookmobile goes all over the county, so more people have a chance to read the graphic novels," Miller said. It was an area he knew very little about until the library contacted him. He has been donating to it ever since.
Ed Miller, director of special services and Bookmobile driver for the Lancaster Public Library, praised the work of Joe. "He has supported us and the Youth Intervention Center through his proceeds from Comic Book Day. These materials are attractive to children, especially ones who are not normally interested in reading or read stuff outside the general realm of interest."
