Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 28th February 2016 – The Master List

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

And yes it's Dark Knight III #3 at top and DC doing a lot better than usual all round. And a special note to Jesse James Comics, the only store where Batman & Robin Eternal outsells Dark Knight III…

And Saga did very well despite being on the truck…

DC places four books in our Top Ten this week: a sequel to a 30-year-old fan favorite, a classic Superman book by Neal Adams, a classic Superman book by Dan Jurgens, and Justice League. Apparently most of our customers prefer DC projects that harken back to the pre-New 52 days! The other big news is Saga climbing to second place in our store, which means that it outsold everything from Marvel, DC., etc., EXCEPT for Dark Knight III: Master Race #3!

Strong interest in Silver Age Captain America books and Bronze Age Punisher, followed closely by interest in Dark Horse Star Wars and Pre-New-52 Batman.

Nice to see DC COMICS landing the top 2 best sellers in our stores this week, a welcome change from the recent performances.

Silver-Age books are still turning in the shops, even non-KEY books which is always nice to see. So long as they're priced reasonably, people do still enjoy reading/owning 1960's books.
With DC/MARVELs inconsistent policy on reprinting this stuff – sometimes the original is the only way to have/enjoy a copy.

Dark Knight III #3 was the clear winner which crushed the competition this week.DC Comics taking 4 of the top spots with overall sales.Only the usual suspects from Image made the top ten which also was not a surprise.

Pretty good mixture of back-issues sold this week.However Deadpool was obviously on peoples minds and collectors were grabbing anything the could get their hands on including the Marvel launch party variants for the last few years.

The truck accident caused the regular shipment to arrived Thursday. Caused a lot of confusion for the various stores. One thought the regular shipment would show up next week. Another just thought sometime in the "future". Diamond sends daily emails every weekday, sometimes more than one a day. So I can see how email notifications could be over looked. The replacement copies arrived Wednesday giving some titles a day more to sell while others arrived on Thursday. Marvel did not have much in the Wednesday shipment so that really helped DC for this week'sBestseller list. People seemed confused how a replacement shipment could beat the original shipment. Very happy we did get our original shipment.

A light week from Marvel meant that DC and Image could finally dominate the top half of our list. Justice League and Dark Knight 3 had VERY strong showings (despite not selling many DK3's on Wednesday). However, these two books are pretty much the exception to the rule. Without Amazing Spider-Man or another big title, Marvel floundered this week.

Power Rangers #0 is still selling like crazy. Red Rangers still goes for $20 AND the set of 5 Rangers is $50 consistently. X-Force Deadpool appearances are in demand thanks to the success of the movie.

Image comes in strong with Saga, Outcast and Chew getting in the top ten this week. Marvel took most the spots with Dc getting two small wins. Rick and Morty continues to fight to be the top 10 each month. Deadpool sales own all.
