BOOM! Studios Release Comic Con Crime Caper, The Big Con Job In March

BOOM! Studios is releasing a comic that will make you think differently about the long lines you stand in at comic con. From writers Jimmy Palmiotti (Harley Quinn) and Matt Brady (Buck Rogers), with art by Dominike "Domo" Stanton (Deadpool), comes The Big Con Job. The story will focus on a group of flabby action heroes, aging sex symbols, and sci-fi bit players who have become close friends over the years of working the same convention circuit. However, once they hire a cocky new booking agent they are given an opportunity that will change their lives. A plan to rob one of the largest cons in the country!

BOOM! Studio's Editor-In-Chief Matt Gagnon spoke about the comic by saying,

Jimmy is well-known for writing sharp characters and hilarious hijinks. Combine that with the talents of writer Matt Brady and phenomenal artist Dominike Stanton, and you've got a team brazen enough to take on a con of epic proportions. This is a comic book crime caper and a love letter to comic conventions. If you're a comic book fan of any fashion, this book will speak to your inner love for our medium.

This sounds like such a fun comic. The potential that a plot like this has is pretty limitless. I can't wait to meet this cast of characters and see how their new opportunity affects how they go about their lives. It's said to be a combination of Galaxy Quest and Ocean's 11, so we are in for one heck of a ride. Palmiotti & Brady's The Big Con Job #1 arrives in comic shops on March 4th.
