A Certain Someone Returns In Today's X-O Manowar #4 (SPOILERS)

Valiant's new X-O Manowar title has seemingly deserted every stripe of the character's original status quo since the series began – stripping away Aric of Dacia's family, his former allies in the Valiant Universe, his sentient alien armor, and even the planet Earth. In their place, we've seen Aric lead the conquest of an utterly alien planet – barehanded and unarmored – as the extraterrestrial races spar for dominance amidst a brutal civil war. Now, in today's X-O Manowar #4 from Matt Kindt and artist Doug Braithwaite, not only do we kick off a new story arc, "General," that will see Aric promoted yet again through the ranks, but we meet an old ghost from his past…

After Aric returns to his farm during a leave of absence from the battlefield, he's met by a familiar figure…

…None other than  Shanhara, the mega-powerful X-O Manowar armor – last seen buried in Aric's backyard. Aric and the armor have been at odds since the series began… but it looks like some answers – and a possible return to X-O Manowar's fully armored glory, might be around the corner. Just in time for 2018's Harbinger Wars 2 perhaps?
