Darkest Knight Rises in Two Death Metal #1s by Tynion, Hill, and more

With October 2020 solicitations out from DC Comics, everyone is talking about Batman. Batman is celebrating two milestone issues with #100, which wraps The Joker War and any hope folks still held out for a John Ridley IV-penned caped crusader, and a #101 that begins a new direction for Bruce Wayne. The Joker War isn't the only event in which the Caped Crusader is embroiled, though. Scott Snyder has taken his grounded take on Batman and turned it cosmic with his Metal titles, which continue in October 2020 along with two new #1 issues, including one by James Tynion IV, who also pens the current Batman ongoing, and Batman and the Outsiders writer Bryan Edward Hill. The Dark Knights: Death Metal tie-in is called Rise of the New God #1 spotlights the Batman Who Laughs, who has become the Darkest Knight in this latest event. Then, in Dark Knights: Death Metal Robin King #1, Gotham-veterans Peter J. Tomasi and Tony Patrick are joined by Riley Rossomo to tell a tale of the Darkest Knight's righthand killer.

His planet. But that's not enough…and the mother of all creation must wonder, if power lies in destruction, why would she ever stop? But that's the thing about truth…when it turns to fact, there's no disputing its godlike reverence…and so enters the Darkest Knight. Featuring a backup story that spins out of the cliffhanger from Dark Nights: Death Metal Multiverse's End #1.
