DC Releases Trailer For DC Rebirth Collected Editions

Proving that the sky's the limit when it comes to promoting their comics, as long as the sky is here defined as cheap flash animations of comic book artwork, DC Comics released a trailer for the Volume 1 collected editions of their popular DC Rebirth not-a-reboot comics. The comics signal a return to a "meat and potatoes" style for DC, which means that the collections will be edible, though they are reportedly best with gravy.

The trailer is somewhat misleading, in that it claims the books can be purchased now wherever graphic novels are sold. However, the books will actually be released two per week beginning January 4, according to ComicBook.com. Boy are DC going to be embarrassed when the zero people who watch comic book trailers show up at comic book stores to buy these tomorrow, only to learn they have to wait another three weeks.

Here's the lineup of books that will be coming out as part of the first wave, from ComicBook.com:

Green Arrow: The Death and Life of Oliver Queen
Superman: Son of Superman
Aquaman: The Drowning
Batman: I Am Gotham
The Flash: Lightning Strikes Twice
Justice League: The Extinction Machine
Green Lanterns: Rage Planet
Detective Comics: Rise of the Batmen
Wonder Woman: The Lies

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
