Watch Out for The Double Page Snickers Ad in Today's DC Comics
We've talked about this before, but of late the Snickers ads featuring DC Comics characters have appeared on the inside cover pages, outside of the actual story itself. But today, Mars is back to its bad, old ways. A double-page spread insert appears in the comics that totally interrupts the flow of the story and it is, well, interrupting. So know this for what it is, read it now, and flick past as soon as humanly possible…
Snickers…the chocolate and caramel bar that used to be called Marathon in the UK. The bar that saw Superman/Wonder Woman/Batman stories shoved inappropriately into the middle of other comic books, confusing readers. The candy that gave us public Flash/Superman battles in stadiums. It also follows up on Mars stablemate Twix chocolate bars that managed to finagle its way into the pages of DC Comics as half page ads under the comic book action and saw Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo mock it from above.
It seems like the relationship between DC and Mars continues, especially with Snickers. Well, the two do go together well, the people who run DC Comics have always seemed pretty nuts to me…
