In response to Diamond Comic Distributors' recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, and alongside the ComicsPRO retailer event being held in Glendale, California today, Dren Productions has stated that it is stepping up to support comic book retailers by launching a new Retailer Portal—allowing stores to order comics directly from the publisher.

With Diamond's uncertain future leaving many retailers – and publishers – in limbo, Dren Productions states that it is committed to ensuring that comic shops have a reliable and efficient way to stock their shelves. And that the newly launched Retailer Portal will provide stores with access to Dren Productions' full catalog of comics, graphic novels, and exclusive retailer variants—all without the middleman.

"We know how important it is for retailers to have stability in their supply chain," said James Mascia, Publisher at Dren Productions. "With our new Retailer Portal, we're offering a streamlined way for stores to continue getting our books, ensuring that fans don't miss out on the stories they love."

Dren Productions put out fun, schlocky fantasy and sci-fi series with just a touch of sexploitation, with titles such as Alien Armageddon: 1944, Flesh Eating Cheerleaders: 1969, AXA Classics, Plan 79 from Outer Space, Christine, Dungeons And Dimwits, Taleds Of The Bizarre and The Sire. But they are expanding, and recently Dren Productions got the license to publish Smokey Bear comic books in partnership with the US Forest Service in a new series of comic books for kids.

ComicsPRO is a trade association for comic book retailers, a volunteer non-profit organization that states it is dedicated to improving the comic book specialty market. Since the decline of Diamond, ComicsPRO Summit has become the central annual comic book retailer meet-up occasion.
