Ed Brisson Says Uncanny X-Men Will Offer at Least 2 "Holy Crap Moments" Per Issue – Plus: Feet!

Yesterday, we commented on the disappointing lack of action or drama on the covers for Uncanny X-Men #1 and Uncanny X-Men #2, released earlier this week. We also reported on the shocking lack of feet, not only in both covers by Leinil Francis Yu and Edgar Delgado, but also in the massive teaser image by David Marquez and Rachelle Rosenberg. We're happy to report today that progress has been made on both issues, with the latest cover to Uncanny X-Men #3 released in an interview with writer Ed Brisson, just as the first two covers were released alongside interviews with other Uncanny X-Men writers Matthew Rosenberg and Kelly Thompson.

Yes, that's right, not only is this cover more visually interesting than the previous two, but it also features three total feet, a notable upgrade from the previous footless covers, though we will need to see a higher foot growth rate if we're every going to tackle the foot deficit on this series.

Additionally, Brisson, who you'll know from reading Extermination #1 where he brutally [SPOILERS] [SPOILER] and [SPOILER], is a cold-hearted SOB, joined Rosenberg and Thompson in expressing joy at torturing our poor, beloved X-Men:

Anyone who's read any of my work knows that I love to put characters through the wringer, and UNCANNY X-MEN will not be an exception. We're pushing some of these characters in ways that they've never been pushed before.

Thankfully, it won't be all doom and gloom (except for Honey Badger — R.I.P.):

Characters who maybe haven't had the spotlight in the past are going to have to step up and prove that they deserve to be on this team. We've given some of the younger X-Men, including my personal favorite, Glob, a chance to really shine, which I'm thrilled about.

Brisson also promised plenty of future Wednesday headlines for the 24-hour comics news cycle:

This book will keep you guessing at every turn. There are going to be some pretty big players you haven't seen in a while doing some downright crazy stuff.

I think that there's at least two 'holy crap' moments in every issue. Readers are in for a hell of a ride.

Uncanny X-Men #1 hits stores on November 14th.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened.
