Faith, Now An Ongoing Comic Series From Valiant, Launching July (Full Art UPDATE)

Over the weekend, Bleeding Cool reported that the first issue of the Faith limited series has gone to a fifth print, the fastest for any comic book ever published. And it would come out at the dame time as the series' fourth and final issue.

But it's not over until… well you know.

Ahead of ECCC, the New York Times has run the PR  that Faith will be getting her own ongoing comic books series in the Valiant universe, beginning in July.

The series will be by, Jody Houser, Pere Pérez and Marguerite Sauvage, with Pere replacing Francis Portea from the limited series team.

And again, it's worth pointing out that Faith is the second plus size lead character from Valiant alongside Archer & Armstrong.

The release date is July 20th – just in time for San Diego Comic Con. The $9.99 volume one TPB collecting the mini-series will be out in July as well.

Created by former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter (Secret Wars) and Eisner Award-winning writer and artist David Lapham (Stray Bullets) in Valiant's acclaimed HARBINGER series in 1992, Faith has long been a central icon of Valiant's award-winning publishing line. Then, in January 2016, Faith took her long-awaited, much-demanded first step toward solo stardom with FAITH #1 (of 4)– a groundbreaking debut that quickly became the first and biggest breakout hit of the New Year from any major comics publisher.
