Finder: Voice is…

The story of the night before Rachel Grosvenor's induction into her family's clan, when a casual mugging leaves her and her sister bruised and shaken– minus her family ring. WIthout it, she can't become a full member of society, not only screwing up her own life but her siblings' as well. The elusive Jaeger, a family friend with more skeletons than closets, could help her; he's a finder, a member of a secret society of elite trackers. But tracking down a man who doesn't want to be found easily may be harder than finding the ring.

Finder: Voice is…

A prime example of social science fiction and world-smithing that would fit in rightly with the works of Catherynne M. Valente and China Mieville if it was a prose novel. Instead it's in the fine company of Ellis and Robertson's Transmetropolitan and the Love and Rockets work of Los Bros Hernandez. McNeil conveys more emotion and depth through the slick line of a raised eyebrow than most can with an entire book, played out in a world that is unquestionably familiar and unshakably alien.
