Free Comic Book Day Orders Are Up – Despite Number Of Titles Being Down

The consensus was that this year's Free Comic Book Day numbers would be a little down, as the number of titles available was cut down to fifty, all-ages titles were also reduced as a proportion of the comics offered and there was less of a diversity of tastes represented this year.

Well, that is not the case at all. Diamond is reporting that orders so far top 5.6 million free comic books, an increase on 2014's 4.65 million orders in total, a 21% increase – with only an 8% increase in participating stores (2340 of them).

It seems as though this year's Free Comic Book Day will be the biggest yet by some margin…
